GSC Men's Basketball Weekly Awards - Jan. 30, 2024
The Gulf South Conference announced its men's basketball weekly award winners for Week 11 of the 2023-24 season with games played between January 22-28.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Zawdie Jackson, Jr., G, West Georgia
Jackson secured his third GSC Player of the Week accolade this season with a standout display. Averaging 32.5 points, 5.5 assists, and two steals per game, he shot 66 percent from the field (23-of-35) and 48 percent from beyond the arc (12-of-25) in wins against Christian Brothers and Union. Scoring a game-high 31 points against Christian Brothers and a season-high 34 points against Union, Jackson now has six games with 25 points or more this season.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Davaki Garr, Fr., G, Union
Garr clinched his second GSC Freshman of the Week award this season by averaging 11.5 points, three rebounds, and three assists in games against Delta State and West Georgia last week. In a career-high 28 minutes of play against the ninth-ranked West Georgia Wolves, the freshman guard scored 18 points, just one short of his career-high. Notably, Garr set new career highs in field goals (7), made threes (4), and rebounds (6).
