The Next Generation Of Hoops Stars Earn All-EYBL First-Team Honors
With the Peach Jam field official, the FloHoops team looks back at the top players of the 2017 Nike EYBL regular season.
(Editor's Note: The EYBL MVP was voted as a higher honor than first team.)
FloHoops’ 2017 All-EYBL First Team:
Darius Garland - Bradley Beal Elite (MO)
Regular Season Statistics: 16.8 ppg., 3.1 rpg., 4.8 apg., 1.2 spg.
The numbers in the box scores may not be as explosive by comparison to his peers, but the impact Garland made on his team was on another level. The 6-foot floor general was elite beyond measure.
Coby White - Team CP3 (NC)
Regular Season Statistics: 21.7 ppg., 3.6 rpg., 3.1 apg., 1.3 spg.
No matter if his team needed to score or simply someone to facilitate and make plays, White answered the call each and every time to join the other elite names on the list. His efficiency was off the charts.
Jontay Porter - MOKAN Elite (KS) - 2018 Flo40 No. 23
Regular Season Statistics: 18.1 ppg., 12.6 rpg., 2.2 apg., 2.6 bpg., 1.1 spg.
The first time seeing the 6-foot-10 power forward as a true alpha dog was something special. The defending Peach Jam champions didn’t miss a beat, because Porter was always on his game on both ends of the court.
Marvin Bagley III - Nike Phamily (CA) - 2018 Flo40 No. 1
Regular Season Statistics: 25.3 ppg., 14.3 rpg. 3.1 bpg.
The numbers are absurd, something out of a video game, but that’s what the best player posted all of the time. The 6-foot-10 Bagley, who finished with the EYBL's second-highest scoring average and first in rebounds per game, was the face of the league and lived up to the hype despite his squad struggling to earn wins most of the season.
Bol Bol - California Supreme (CA) - 2018 Flo40 No. 17
Regular Season Statistics: 24.1 ppg., 10.0 rpg., 4.4 bpg.
At 7-foot-1, Bol Bol just did his damage around the rim, right? Guess again. As the leader of the league’s most explosive offense while also leading every player in blocks, his contributions were so significant it was downright scary at times.
