Stony Brook University Men's Basketball Schedule 2023-2024: What To Know
The Stony Brook men’s basketball team returns two of its top scorers from last season. Take a look at the Seawolves’ schedule.
Stony Brook joined the Coastal Athletic Association fray for the 2022-2023 season, along with Hampton, Monmouth and North Carolina A&T.
In their first season in the CAA, the Seawolves were 6-12 in conference action and 11-22 overall. The previous year, while still in the America East Conference, they were 18-13 overall and 10-8 in conference play.
In two decades in the America East, Stony Brook won regular-season titles in 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2016 and won the conference tournament in 2016 to advance to the NCAA Tournament for the first time.
Stony Brook will begin its second year in the CAA slated to finish ninth in the conference, as voted on by the CAA head coaches for the 2023-2024 CAA Men’s Basketball Preseason Poll.

One Stony Brook player also was part of the preseason discussions.
Graduate guard Tyler Stephenson-Moore, a third-team All-CAA selection last season, got the nod for the preseason second team. He finished last year as the Stony Brook leader in scoring (14.3 points per game) and field goals made (152), and he was second in rebounding (4.3), assists (2.2) and steals (0.9).
The Seawolves’ roster will include two of the team’s top three scorers from last year (Stephenson-Moore and Keenan Fitzmorris), four other returning players and three transfers.
Stony Brook head coach Geno Ford is entering his fifth year with the Seawolves and 15th as a men’s basketball head coach at the collegiate level. His previous success as a player—at Cambridge High School and then Ohio University—earned him a 2023 induction into the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame.
