Drexel University Women's Basketball Schedule 2023-2024: What To Know
Drexel University Women's Basketball Schedule 2023-2024: What To Know
The Drexel women’s basketball team is about to embark on its first season without last year’s CAA Player of the Year. Here’s a look at their schedule.
Drexel finished the 2022-2023 season with a 21-10 record and has won 20 or more games in six consecutive full seasons, while making the postseason nine straight times.
The big question now is if the Dragons can keep that momentum going without recently graduated Coastal Athletic Association Player of the Year—Keishana Washington.
The coaches around the CAA didn’t seem so sure, as Drexel landed seventh among the conference's 14 teams in the 2023-2024 CAA Women’s Basketball Preseason Poll, despite recent success.

Drexel was part of a three-way tie for last year’s regular-season CAA title (with Towson and Northeastern), which earned the Dragons a first-round bye for the 2023 CAA Women’s Basketball Championship, but they weren’t able to capitalize on the opportunity.
Despite having Washington on the floor, Drexel’s run at the tournament title ended immediately with a loss to eventual champion Monmouth.
The consolation for the Dragons was a spot in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament and an opening-round game against Fordham, which the Dragons lost 73-63 to end their season.
Washington graduated second on Drexel’s career scoring list and ended her career as the 2022-2023 CAA Player of the Year, along with numerous other accolades. In April, she signed a contract to join the Minnesota Lynx at their training camp, with a chance to make the 2023 roster, though she was put on waivers less than a month later.
As she looks ahead at the next steps in her career, the Dragons will work on their first season without her.
Heading into the new campaign, none of the current Drexel players were part of the All-CAA preseason teams.
Finding their rhythm in a post-Washington world got a fun, team-building boost in August, however, as the Drexel women’s basketball team went on a 10-day trip to Ireland.
The excursion included visiting some of the region’s historic sights, along with three games against local competition.
Here’s a look at the Drexel University women’s basketball schedule for the 2023-2024 season.
