The South Atlantic Conference Men’s Basketball Championships are going down in Rock Hill, South Carolina from March 5-8 at the start of March Madness. The regular season concluded on March 2 finalizing the SAC Men’s Basketball standings and set the tournament brackets.

With just one game remaining in the regular season for SAC Men's Basketball, Catawba, Lincoln Memorial, and Wingate sit tied for the No.1 seed at 15-4. Last year, Catawba won the 2023 SAC Men’s Basketball Tournament with a 101-69 win over UVA Wise.

Catawba leads the SAC Conference in tournament finals appearances with eight, they will look to make a return this March amongst the other top ranked SAC programs.

When Does The 2024 NCAA Tournament Start?

The tournament will begin with Selection Sunday on March 17, followed by the First Four on March 19-20. 

After the opening round is complete, the field will be set with the top 64 teams and the first round will start on March 21-22.

What Is Selection Sunday?

Selection Sunday is the day the NCAA committee releases the full tournament bracket initial seeding of all 68 teams. 

Thirty-two teams will automatically qualify for the tournament by winning their conference tournament. 

That leaves 36 other teams fighting for an at-large bid from the selection committee, which is considered through multiple stats and rankings to determine who receives the at-large bid.
