WNBA Draft 2024 Recap: Caitlin Clark Goes No.1 To Indiana Fever
Here's a preview of the Indiana Fever ahead of the 2024 WNBA Season.
WNBA Preseason Preview 2024: Indiana Fever and Caitlin Clark
The Indiana Fever will be one of the most watched teams this WNBA season following the addition of Caitlin Clark in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Clark will join Aliyah Boston, who was the No.1 pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft after her dominant career at South Carolina.
Other notable lottery picks currently on the Fever roster include NaLyssa Smith (No. 2 in 2022) and Kelsey Mitchell (No. 2 in 2018).
The Fever finished the 2023 season at No.10 in the 12 team league, leaving them two spots away from clinching a playoff berth. The last time the Fever made the playoffs was in 2016, where they lost in the first round to Phoenix. The 2016 season season also marked the end of Tamika Catchings's playing career. She was known as the Fever's franchise player since 2002.
With a considerably solid roster already in place, the impact of Caitlin Clark could possibly surge this team to the top of the 2024 WNBA standings. The final roster will determine just how well this team can compete with other top competitors, such as the Las Vegas Aces, cuts and roster changes are expected to be made until May 14 on opening night.
