Butler WBB gains an impressive victory over the Santa Clara Broncos 79-50 in its first game of the Gulf Coast Showcase.

With the win, the Bulldogs will await the winner of No. 5 Texas vs. New Mexico in tomorrow's second game.

In the first quarter, Riley Makalusky got it done for Butler after scoring the first ten points of the game. Even though she finished the game with 13, that first-quarter performance was all she needed to help put her team over the top.

Sydney Jaynes was the Bulldogs' leading scorer with 16, but this was a team win for Butler.
