The NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Tournament’s South Region includes four of the Top 25-ranked Division II women's basketball programs this season, setting up a cutthroat competition for the South's spot in the Elite Eight.

No. 1 seed Union University (29-3 overall, 24-1 in the Gulf South Conference) will host the South Region portion of the NCAA Tournament in Jackson, Tenn., at Viniar Athletic Center.

Union took a slim win against Alabama Huntsville 58-52 in the Gulf South Conference Championship, and will face a gauntlet of stacked teams in the South Region to clear a path to the Elite Eight.

Among those teams is No. 2 Embry-Riddle (Fla.) (27-4 overall, 17-3 in the Sunshine State Conference), which comes into the South Region on a hot streak of three wins in the SSC Championships. The Eagles' Madyson Jean-Louis will also pose a threat to any team they face, as the SSC's Defensive Player of the Year.

The South Region will tip off action at 1 p.m. ET on March 14, with all of the games of the region streamed live on FloCollege and the FloSports app. Here’s what to know about the South Region.

There are eight teams in the 64-team field competing in the South Region, including No. 9-ranked Union (TN) (29-3), No. 13 Embry-Riddle (FL) (27-4), No. 20 Tampa (26-6) and No. 24 Nova Southeastern (25-6).

When Does the 2025 NCAA Division 2 Women’s Basketball Tournament Start?

The tournament begins on March 14 with regional games. The Elite Eight begins on March 24, the Final Four begins on March 26 and the National Championship is March 28 on ESPN+.
