Army Knocks Off Elon In College Basketball Invitational With A Slim Win
Army got a massive win over Elon, its first postseason win in over 30 years. Here is how it happened.
There was another game for the books in the first round of the 2025 College Basketball Invitational, with Elon men's basketball going against Army.
In this game, Elon was in control for the vast majority of the game. They had the lead for 29 of the 40 minutes and shot nearly 50 percent from the field and the three-point line.

However, Army basketball stayed in the game and fought to take the lead during the late stretch by making the right plays, getting clutch buckets to extend the lead when Elon made a push, and knocking down some clutch free throws to put the game away.
Although the Black Knights' leading scorer, Jalen Rucker, didn't have a great shooting night, he still managed to score 27 points, which greatly assisted them in the 83-78 win.
Army will take on Florida Gulf Coast in the quarterfinals on FloCollege at 2:00 p.m. ET on March 24.
