Illinois State Edges Out Presbyterian In CBI First Round To Move On
Illinois State is heading to the semifinals in the 2025 College Basketball Invitational; here is how they beat Presbyterian.
The final game in the first round of the 2025 College Basketball Invitational saw Illinois State men's basketball come out on top over Presbyterian, as they made many winning plays in the second half.
Illinois State played a nearly perfect game. They shot a very high percentage from the field, 60 percent, and the Cardinals scored more than half of their points in the paint.

Starting forward, Chase Walker scored 20 points, shooting 8-11, and grabbed nine rebounds, proving to be a dominant force below and in the post.
Presbyterian men's basketball did put up a fight, attempting to make a run in an effort to get back in the game, but Illinois State was right there to negate the Blue Hose momentum, extend its lead, and eventually win the game.
Illinois State jumps to the semifinals of the Invitational, awaiting the winner of the quarterfinal matchup between Incarnate Word and Jacksonville. The semifinal matchup will be on ESPNU at 7:00 p.m. ET on March 25.
