Cleveland State Beat Queens (NC) 88-73 Cruising To The CBI Semifinals
Cleveland State did not blink when having a chance to reach the 2025 CBI semifinals by dominating Queens (NC); find out how they did it.
Cleveland State men's basketball rounded out the second day of the 2025 College Basketball Invitational, defeating Queens (NC) easily, winning by 15 points, 88-73.
The first half was all Cleveland State, with Cleveland State owning a 40-23 lead going into the locker room. They shot 59 percent from the field and locked down Queens (NC), not allowing them to get any offense going.

Overall, the Vikings finished shooting 61 percent and 40 from beyond the arc. Their largest lead reached 23 points with 2:24 left, and the game was only tied for 30 seconds. They did not surrender the lead once.
Sophomore guard Tahj Staveskie only averaged 12.5 points per game coming into the Invitational but scored well above that tonight with 29 on 10-14 shooting, including four threes on seven attempts.
Now that Cleveland State has made it past Queens (NC) men's basketball, it sets up a semifinal matchup against Florida Gulf Coast, as they defeated Army earlier in the day on March 24.
