The sun has set on another AAU weekend in Las Vegas with the West Coast Elite Spring Classic, which did not disappoint. Plenty of Division I coaches and scouts attended, and the showcased talent soared out of the roof.
Here's our All-Spring Classic team based on the 17U division:
G – Terrance McBride, Earl Watson Elite Gold
The 6-2 guard from Sierra Canyon, California, showed the world why Yale and other Division 1 programs are interested. He showcased his intelligence and composure by making timely passes while leading his team to the 17U Open Championship. In addition to his passing, McBride made clutch shots down the stretch.
G – Josh Hauser, Double Pump Elite
Overlooked by some because of his athletic teammates, Hauser leads in a commanding way that keeps his team in check. Hauser showed the poise of a true leader when things got tough for Double Pump. Down 13 points against H Squad, it was Hauser who gave words of encouragement to lead the team to victory.
F – Travis Patrick, Double Pump Elite
The Taft High School (CA) forward may come out of the West Coast Elite Spring Classic as the highest-recruited player. Standing at 6-8, Patrick can dribble inside and out, drain the three, and keep his cool under pressure. He’s receiving looks from New Mexico State and a number of community colleges, but interests are about to peak for this talent.
F – Jaquan Lightfoot, Double Pump Elite
Originally from Brooklyn, Lightfoot (also from Taft High School) brings that Yankee swag to the court. Loud, strong, and fearless is all a part of Lightfoot’s game. He enjoys when others try to get into his head, because he uses that as fuel to a dominating force. Lightfoot is currently being looked at by Rutgers, UNLV, and St. Francis.
F/C – Louis Bangal Double Pump Elite
Bangal is a silent assassin from St. Paul Santa Fe High School in California. Towering over most of the competition, Bangal averaged more than three blocks a game through the weekend. He's being looked at UCLA, USF, and other Division I programs.
