Anything can happen in the summer, and the Las Vegas Punishers are living proof. They won the West Coast Elite Spring Classic after entering at the last minute. Fortunately, the Spring Classic had one open slot left, and it was in the 17U Gold division.

The Punishers have been known to play tough competition, so once they had secured their spot in the tournament, they were instantly favorited to win.

They train at Athletic Gaines in their hometown. The gym is owned by Trevelle Gaines, who trains Chicago Bulls all-star shooting guard, Jimmy Butler. It’s safe to say the Punishers are in good hands.

The Punishers' Big 3 includes Aamondae Coleman, son of ex-Chicago Bull Marcus Fizer; sharpshooter AJ Bank; and 6-foot-8 big man, Jason Landman. Coleman is receiving looks from Air Force; Banks from Dixie State; and Landman from both Air Force and Dixie State.

Aamondae Coleman, as you can expect, is a baller. He leads the Punishers in scoring. During the Spring Classic, Coleman dropped 49 points in a victory over 303 Elite.

One of the premier teams in Las Vegas, The Punishers will be tested by a tough schedule for the remainder of the AAU season:

May 28-30 adidas Gauntlet Regional Qualifier – Los Angeles, CA
July 6-10 Double Pump Summer Tip Off – Anaheim, CA
July 14-17 Great American Shoot Out – Duncanvile, TX
July 21-24 adidas Uprising – Las Vegas, NV
July 22-24 Fab 48 – Las Vegas, NV
July 25-27 BigFoot Last Call – Las Vegas, NV
