Southern Stampede Leaves Day 1 of Peach Invitational Unscathed
Day 1 of the Nike Peach Invitational has concluded and only a few teams are left undefeated.
It was a hot one in Augusta, Georgia.
The first day of the Nike Peach Invitational, also known as PIT, is in the books. Teams who did not qualify for the Nike EYBL Peach Jam competed for bragging rights at the end of the season circuit.
Favorites, and Peach Jam snubs, Southern Stampede came into the tournament without their main man Collin Sexton. Sexton is expected to return on Day 2 after resting from a successful FIBA 17u World Championship. The Stampede won both of their games w/o the EYBL leading scorer by a combined a combined 9 points over Mac Irvin Fire and Team Griffin.
In the other pools, Oakland Soldiers finished 2-0 behind sharpshooting from guard Alex Barcello in Pool B. Also in Pool B, NY Lightning finished 2-0 and will play the Soldiers July 8, 2016 at 9am EDT on Court 1. Pool C and D are completely open with only one team in each division finishing 0-2.
Be sure to watch Day 2 of the Peach Invitational as we finish out Pool Play and enter the first round of the elimination bracket.

FloHoops Performance of the Day
This was a tough one but it has to go to Seattle Rotary’s Daejon Davis. Davis only missed one FG attempt against RM5 Elite en route to a 5-point victory. Davis finished with 25 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. The Garfield Bulldogs’ guard is on many D1 coaches’ radar, especially those in the Pac-12.Be sure to watch Day 2 of the Peach Invitational as we finish out Pool Play and enter the first round of the elimination bracket.
