The Nike Hardwood Classic is one of the biggest summer tournaments in the United States—it features 300 teams, including 75 in the 17U division. 

Located in Lawrence, Kansas, the Hardwood Classic brings together teams from Kansas, New York, Iowa, Missouri, Texas, Colorado, Wisconsin, Illinois, Arkansas, Tennessee, Indiana, Minnesota, Michigan, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota and Oklahoma.

Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) Peach Jam champions Mokan Elite host the Hardwood Classic, and they're looking to keep the championship flow going. Mokan Elite is led by superstar duo Michael Porter Jr., a small forward and a Washington commit, and Trae Young, an uncommitted point guard. Both Young and Porter Jr. contributed heavily to Mokan Elite's EYBL championship campaign.

Other teams that could give Mokan a run for their money are EYBL's PSA Cardinals and Team Penny. PSA Cardinals have a top-five recruit in the uncommitted Mohamed Bamba, and look to avenge their Peach Jam final loss at the hands of Mokan Elite. Team Penny is led by star forward, PJ Washington, who has many offers and is arguably one of the best players in the 2017 class.

Other notable teams playing include Nike Peach Invitational quarterfinalists Team Portis Wings, Missouri Gym Rats, and OZ Elite.
