WASHINGTON, Illinois -- The stage is set. After an exciting day inside Torry Gymnasium, Chicago Uplift will take on Anaheim Esperanza for the Washington Invitational championship at the Oglethrope, Inc. Tournament of Champions on Saturday.

How both teams got to this point was on full display Friday: star power.

Chicago Uplift, led by the high-flying brothers duo of Demarius and Markese Jacobs, took out host Washington 47-36, while another stellar night from Kezie Okpala helped the Aztecs get past Proviso East 71-64.

For the Titans, Markese, a 2019 point guard already committed to Kansas, put on a show with his unreal athleticism and acrobatic finishes on the way to 16 points, and Demarius, who is headed to Southern Illinois, added 13 points and four blocks.

On the other side, Okpala continued his case for MVP, dropping another 36 points and 14 rebounds.

While this 5 PM CST showdown is the biggest to watch, here are some other notable Saturday matchups:

10:30 AM: Spartanburg Day (SC) vs. Union City (TN)
Noon: Faith Christian vs. Eureka
3:30 PM: St. Louis-Miller vs. Chicago Urban Prep-Englewood
6:30 PM: Legacy Charter vs. Redemption Christian

Quick Note:
There was a scary scene during the fourth quarter of the Spartanburg Day/Chicago Kenwood game when Kenwood's 6-foot-7 forward Cam Bowles was contested at the rim during a fast-break dunk. The defender rose with Bowles and when both players came down, Bowles flipped over the defender and landed head first. The impact was followed by an apparent seizure by Bowles, and he was rushed to a local hospital. Fortunately, the initial tests came back negative, and Bowles is conscious and walking on his own. He will not compete in Kenwood's final game against Washington but is hopeful to return to the court soon pending further testing in Chicago.
