12 Unforgettable Moments Frozen In Time
The best images from a crazy 2016-17 high school basketball season across the country.
This past season in high school boys basketball had it all: buzzer-beaters, shocking upsets, and stunning individual performances. Here's a look back at 12 moments from 2016-17 that we won't be forgetting anytime soon.
Ouch! For those that were watching on FloHoops, you felt this one too. On a fastbreak chase at the season-opening Phenom Hoops National Showcase, Billy Preston twisted his knee and was instantly down in pain. Luckily, Preston walked it off, but for that moment, we all worried for the uncommitted senior.
This matchup featured one of the top point guards in New York City and the East versus one of the top point guards in the West. Jose Alvarado (Georgia Tech) and Alex Barcello (Arizona) went to work at Hoophall West, and trust us when we say things were as heated as the hot Arizona sun.
Do you smell what Brad Davison is cooking? The Wisconsin signee was simply on fire at the Breakdown USA Tip-off Classic.
Pure beauty. Somewhere between this graceful scissor jump and the several other times Montverde's super sophomore stunned the crowd, RJ Barrett became the class of 2019's No. 1 prospect.
What?
How?
Is that?
Yes. That's Zion Williamson pulling back a full 180 degrees from the basket.
The only thing more electric than the first tip of the Les Schwab Invitational final between 2017 No. 1 Michael Porter Jr. and 2018 No. 1 Marvin Bagley was the final buzzer. Nathan Hale versus Sierra Canyon is our game of the year.
In a City of Palms Finals rematch against Montverde, Memphis East's Alex Lomax set up a score just before the buzzer by dishing a perfect pass to Chandler Lawson, whose slam gave Memphis East the win and revenge at home.
It all happened for No. 1 La Lumiere, and it was a sight to be seen the moment the Lakers knew they were going to be national champions.
