The Nike EYBL All-Session II Team is filled with some of the biggest names in high school basketball.
INDIANAPOLIS -- The more games played, the harder this gets. It was no secret the Nike EYBL was going to be loaded with talent, but so many players have elevated their play, especially this past weekend during Session II at Jonathan Byrd's Fieldhouse, to belong in the conversation.
So although this list could go 15 or 20 deep, here are the five players to make the EYBL All-Session II Team:
G: Tre Jones (Howard Pulley (MN), 2018 Flo40 No. 19)
Session II Statistics: 20.8 ppg., 7.0 rpg., 7.8 apg.
Session II Team Record: 4-0
The love could be spread to a number of high-major floor generals here, but it's impossible to take Jones off this list with the way he took over Session II. After proving he is arguably the best point guard in the league the first weekend, the 6-foot-2 Jones followed up with a stat-stuffing stretch that will be hard for anyone to duplicate. Jones did everything well and was everywhere on the floor while making his teammates better. There's not much more to ask from a leader, including going 4-0, and Jones did it with style in front of his brother, Tyus, and Duke's staff on hand for nearly every game.
Cole Anthony (PSA Cardinals (NY), 2019 Flo40 No. 12)
Session II Statistics: 19.0 ppg., 3.0 rpg., 9.3 apg.
Session II Team Record: 3-1
Following a perfect run the first weekend, a close loss in the Session II opener could have meant trouble for most. Not Anthony. In fact, after dropping the game to All Ohio Red, he put his squad on his back and dominated. Anthony registered double-digit assists in the final three games, which were all wins, and made sure to prove that loss was only a minor setback. The aggressive play was a big-time boost.
Coby White (Team CP3 (NC))
Session II Statistics: 23.3 ppg., 2.8 rpg., 2.8 apg.
Session II Team Record: 3-1
White wasn't the leading scorer of the session, and he didn't fill up the stat sheet like some of his other backcourt counterparts. Yet, it is hard to deny his impact for Team CP3. With a team full of guards, the North Carolina-bound scorer has run the show and is looked upon to carry the load. His squad went 3-1, with the loss coming at the buzzer to Team Penny, but three straight 20-plus point performances against a tough schedule, including a victory against scorching-hot and undefeated Boo Williams to close it out, his play definitely didn't get lost in the shuffle.
Jontay Porter (MOKAN Elite (KS), 2018 Flo40 No. 23)
Session II Statistics: 18.5 ppg., 12.8 rpg., 3.0 apg.
Session II Team Record: 4-0
It's difficult to want to change the channel when the Jontay Porter Show comes on. The 6-foot-10 power forward has just been that good while leading his team to a perfect 8-0 start. Not only is Porter getting it done on the offensive end, but he is also doing work on the defensive side. He posted a double-double in all four Session II contests and seven of eight total. Getting to finally see Alpha-Jontay is fun, and nobody wants it to stop.
Bol Bol (California Supreme (CA), 2018 Flo40 No. 17)
Session II Statistics: 29.8 ppg., 9.8 rpg., 2.8 bpg.
Session II Team Record: 3-1
Simply dominant. It's hard to describe what Bol Bol did last weekend any better than that. Sure, everyone is aware of the genetics and his long 7-foot frame, but the efficiency was crazy good. Bol Bol protected the rim, dunked anything close, and even stepped out to knock down 3-pointers. He was the best player on the floor at all times and changed the game in countless ways in front of dozens of coaches.
