Arizona's Allonzo Trier Soaring On National Player Of The Year Radars
Arizona junior guard Allonzo Trier is a national player of the year candidate entering the 2017-18 campaign.
How much time does Allonzo Trier spend away from basketball in the offseason? Not much at all. The Arizona junior guard is always in the gym working, and all signs point to that being on full display when his squad takes the floor in Spain live on FloHoops this week.
Although his career has had some ups and downs, from an injury to his shooting hand his freshman year to a lengthy suspension at the start of his sophomore season, the production has always been there for Trier.
After averaging 14.8 points and 3.3 rebounds during his initial campaign, Trier came back with a vengeance in 2016-17 by dropping a team-high 17.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in 18 appearances to lead the Wildcats to a Pac-12 regular-season crown and Pac-12 Tournament championship.
Trier was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Pac-12 Tournament after posting 20.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game.
There's no doubt the 6-foot-5 versatile guard is one of the best players in country, a national player of the year candidate, and you better believe he is out to prove that all season long.
