Brandon Boston Shows Out At Hoophall Classic, Talks Recruiting
Brandon Boston put on show in his team's 20-point rout of previously unbeaten Roselle (N.J.) Catholic on Saturday at the Hoophall Classic.
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Brandon Boston put on show in his team's 20-point rout of previously unbeaten Roselle (N.J.) Catholic on Saturday at the Hoophall Classic.
The 6-foot-7, 183-pound junior wing scored a game-high 26 points and made 4-of-7 3-pointers as Norcross (GA) crushed Kentucky-bound wing Kahlil Whitney and the Lions, 75-55.
"He shot it great today, his teammates really helped him with the screens and stuff like that," Whitney, who plans to sign his NLI with Kentucky on May 3, said of Boston. "He made a lot of tough shots. He's got a great team."
Boston looked poised and effortless while draining long-range shots, scoring in transition, and throwing down a few dunks to amuse the crowd.
"He showed pretty much his entire package tonight," said Norcross coach Jesse McMillan. "He can score in so many different ways. He's got a nice confidence and calmness to him. He's an underrated passer. He's got great vision so what he did tonight is really not out of the ordinary. We see it a lot in practices and we've seen it a lot recently in games."

Ranked No. 10 in the Class of 2020 by 247Sports.com, Boston listed Duke, Auburn, Kentucky, Alabama, and Florida as the schools recruiting him hardest.
He briefly discussed each school.
Duke: "I visited there in November. It was a fun visit. They want me to be a primary scorer, go in there and be the best player I can be."
Auburn: "I took an official in November. It was good, it's a small campus, everybody knows each other. Bruce Pearl, that's my guy." He took an official there with AAU teammates Sharife Cooper and Auburn commit Isaac Okoro.
Kentucky: "I go to Kentucky on the 16th [when they play Tennessee]."
Alabama: "I visited there, too. That was a good experience. Good coaching staff."
Florida: "That might've been the most fun visit I've been on. I went to the Tennessee game."
When he does decide, he said he'll be looking for "a great coaching staff that can trust me to play my game."
Looking ahead, Boston admires Kevin Durant and dreams of playing in the NBA. He figures to be on the first ESPN.com mock draft for 2021.
"I don't know if [Durant] is a fair comparison, but I think what he means by that is the competitiveness, being able to play multiple positions, being a good defender, maybe not having the traditional body type that other people have in the league," McMillan said.
"Being a long, lanky kid, he's got to use angles, he's got to rebound out of his position. He's just a really good kid and he's fun to coach."
**Issa Muhammad, the 6-foot-8 senior forward from Norcross, recently added offers from Wake Forest and Old Dominion, and Maryland checked in, McMillan said.
"He's played better and better throughout the year and he's maybe considering a prep year, but if the right thing comes along he'll consider it," McMillan said.
