Doncic was honored with a pre-game ceremony commemorating his unforgettable 2017-18 season in leading Madrid through a minefield of injuries to the trophy. With Doncic donning his No. 7 Madrid jersey, Felipe Reyes and Sergio Llull greeted him at midcourt after player introductions and the three posed with the EuroLeague trophy they won together last season while the overhead screen flashed: "Welcome home Luka".
Doncic won four awards at the end of last season: 2017-18 EuroLeague MVP, Final Four MVP, All-EuroLeague First Team and Rising Star Trophy.
