KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Iowa State head coach Steve Prohm said Tuesday his star point guard had an outstanding summer. He got bigger, stronger, and worked on his shot. Yes, all signs point to floor general Monte Morris having a huge senior season.

“We’re going to need him to take a bigger offensive role for this team because of what we lost,” Prohm said.

After averaging 13.8 points and 6.9 assists last season, Morris is not only expected to lead the Cyclones, he also is the face of the entire conference as the preseason player of the year.

Morris spoke with FloHoops’ Brett Regan at Big 12 media day about his game, team, and the decision to return to school.
