West Boys Team Walks Off United Center Floor Victorious At McDonald's All American Games
CHICAGO — All week long, the chatter never stopped. The nation’s best players were looking for bragging rights at the McDonald’s All American Games and wanted everyone to know who would win the big-time showcase.
That was all settled at the United Center on Wednesday. After falling in the scrimmage the day before, the West Boys Team bounced back to take home the glory with a 109-107 win over the East Boys Team.
Michael Porter Jr. led six West players in double figures with 17 points and eight rebounds to earn Most Valuable Player honors. Jaylen Hands added 14 points, Brandon McCoy had 13, Troy Brown Jr. dropped 12, and Chuck O’Bannon and Billy Preston each chipped in 10 points in the win.
For the East, Mohamed Bamba led the way with 17 points, while Kevin Knox added 15, Mitchell Robinson thundered home 14, and Wendell Carter Jr. scored 10.
All 24 players scored at least one point in the contest.
