Flo40 Wing Brian Bowen Ends Amazing Week With DICK'S Nationals MVP Honors
NEW YORK — A McDonald’s All American Games victory. A DICK’S Sporting Goods High School Nationals title. Just when you thought Brian Bowen’s week couldn’t get any better, guess again. Be sure to add most valuable player to the list.
A 6-foot-7 small forward for La Lumiere School (IN), Bowen made a rather emphatic statement with his game all week. A day after playing in the McDonald’s showcase in Chicago, the 2017 Flo40 uncommitted prospect posted 21 points and nine rebounds against Wasatch Academy (UT) on Thursday. Then, he dropped 19 points, including 17 in the second half, against Findlay Prep (NV) on Friday and added another 15 points and seven rebounds in the championship a day later to give the Lakers their first national title with a 70-52 win over Montverde Academy (FL).
For his efforts, he was named the tournament’s MVP.
