Title-Hungry: Montverde Academy Is For Real

As the Montverde Academy Invitational Tournament loomed, with two highly ranked teams hungry for a potential chance to take them down, head coach Kevin Boyle and the No. 1 Eagles made sure to take care of the business directly in front of them first.

Headlining the ARS Rescue Rooter National Hoopfest in Tampa, FL, Montverde Academy (FL) remained locked in for a 62-25 win over Berkeley Prep (FL) last weekend, before heading home to host its own event featuring No. 4 Findlay Prep (NV) and No. 7 Shadow Mountain (AZ).

Taking care of business has been a good way to describe this top-ranked squad throughout the 2017-18 campaign. From China to Hawaii to some of the nation’s premier showcases, the Eagles, led by 2018 Flo40 No. 1 R.J. Barrett, have soared to great heights time and time again.

The ultimate goal is to win DICK’S Nationals at the end of the season, and it’s time to get a glimpse at what it’s like to be on this star-studded team playing in the Sunshine State.
