10 Things Only 90's Basketball Fans Remember
Oh, the 90's, how we miss ye. The 90's were a simpler time for basketball fans. No shooting sleeves, pasting duct tape on shoulders, and lack of a strict dress-code. The 90's gave us some of the greatest moments in basketball that were both on and off the court. Of course, we know there are more than 10 memorable moments but let's take a trip down memory lane.

1. Air Jordan Sneakers
Our content marketing manager has been a sneaker OG since birth. The Air Jordan sneaker line has transcended years beyond Jordan's three retirements and is still a staple to have in your closet.

2. He Got Game
Featuring one of the greatest shooters of all-time and one of the greatest actor ever. He Got Game captivated audiences depicting the struggles an inner-city baller. This movie shined a light on what being a sports-addicted father can do to a child. Also, what difficulties one may face trying to earn a scholarship to play basketball. Oh, did we mention Ray Allen is Jesus Shuttlesworth?

3. Charlotte Hornets (Original Release)
The three best friends any Charlotte fan could ask for. You had "Grandmama" Larry Johnson, Monstar Muggsy Bogues, and Alonzo Mourning. This trio put the Charlotte Hornets on the map and into NBA folklore. Couldn't beat the Michael Jordan-led Bulls but brought tears of happiness to the Queen City.

4. Valpo's Buzzer-Beater over Ole Miss
Bryce Drew, remember the name. In '98 Valpo, a number 13 seed was going against SEC juggernaut Ole Miss, a number 4 seed. In the winding seconds, Bryce Drew got the ball and hit "The Shot." There have been plenty of buzzer-beaters in the NCAA tournament but this is the one that's replayed every year.

5. Who says nerds can't play ball?

Who would think? The Princeton Tigers beating the UCLA Bruins. In another 13 over 4 matchup, this was a defensive display. With the final score 43-41, the Tigers gave HC Pete Carril his final win tournament win before retiring.

6. Malone vs. Rodman at Bash at the Beach
The biggest things in '98; Dennis Rodman, Karl Malone and wrastlin'. At Bash at the Beach, Karl Malone in heroic fashion teamed up with Diamond Dallas Page while Rodman teamed up with the villain, Hollywood Hulk Hogan. This match was the most-watched of the year with the NWO team of Hogan and Rodman cheating their way to victory.

7. Michael Jordan's 1st and 2nd Retirement

Michael Jordan broke the hearts of fans everywhere when he retired not once but twice. The first was to step away from the game and pursue a baseball career after his father passed. The second was to say "farewell" after the Chicago Bulls second three-peat.

8. Here's a tip, Frost it.

Will frosted tips ever come back? Hopefully not, but if they did, you gotta rock them like Steve Nash. What the hell is on Dirk's head?

9. Allen Iverson Crosses-over MJ

When you're a rookie and you're taking on the G.O.A.T., you gotta show out. That's exactly what AI did. Seeing this happen to MJ was mind-boggling. This would lead to a great start of Iverson's career.

10. Jeff Van Gundy Taking L's

You don't become one of the most respected coaches of all-time without taking a few L's. While the coach of the New York Knicks, Jeff Van Gundy dove at Alonzo Mourning to break up the brawl. JVG's idea of breaking up a brawl was to hang onto Zo's leg for dear life. The Knicks Head Coach would get the last laugh as they advanced in the 1998 NBA Playoffs.
