Team USA looks to continue its dominance and cement a sixth-straight gold medal.
The 2016 Olympic finals Saturday at 1:30 p.m. CST in Rio de Janeiro will feature the United States, the favorite, against Spain in a rematch from group play. Team USA won the first meeting, 103-63, behind guard Diana Taurasi's 13 points.
Throughout elimination play, Spain has proven it belongs in the Gold Medal Game, defeating both Turkey and Serbia en route to a finals date with Team USA.
The competition has been more aggressive against the Team USA in the knockout rounds, but Diana Taurasi and company have kept composure with results in decisive fashion. However, against France in the semifinals Thursday, Team USA had its lowest offensive output and margin of victory, 86 points and 19 points, respectively.
This rematch should be a repeat of the first contest between the two squads. United States will go inside and out for its sixth-straight gold medal. With a victory, Tamika Catchings would become the oldest Olympic gold medalist for United States basketball at 37-years-old.
