Suns, Kings Receive Top 2 NBA Draft Picks, Will Definitely Mess It Up

After much pomp and circumstance in Chicago, wrought with little flashbacks to previous NBA drafts, player profiles, and fancy suits, the Phoenix Suns, with the best odds in the lottery, landed the top pick followed by the Sacramento Kings and Atlanta Hawks, respectively.

The biggest surprise was probably the Sacramento Kings jumping into the top three, passing the Dallas Mavericks and Memphis Grizzlies who have been punished very severely by the basketball gods for taking so shamefully during the year.

The last time the Suns made the playoffs was in 2010, which by our extremely advanced mathematical calculations was nearly a decade ago. The Kings, meanwhile, have decided to start their summer vacation early every year since 2006, and they in fact haven’t won a playoff series since 2004.

In other words, both teams need help, and both teams also could very well really, really mess this up. DeAndre Ayton and Luka Doncic — who we looked at today and who plays this Friday and Sunday in the EuroLeague Final Four, right here on FloHoops — will likely be the top two picks at the NBA Draft on June 21.
