Marvin Bagley III's Final Prep Masterpiece
Sep 8, 2017
The good news keeps rolling in for Duke. On top of all of the recent recruiting success in landing one top five prospect after another, the Blue Devils received word that freshman forward Marvin Bagley III has been certified by the NCAA Eligibility Center and can play during the 2017-18 season.
The announcement on Friday was not surprising by any means, but it is still rather significant.
It’s officially go time for one of the top players in the country.
This was obviously the final step for Bagley, a 6-foot-10 power forward and 2017 Flo40 No. 2, to graduate high school a year early, reclassify, and enroll at Duke, essentially speeding up his path to the NBA Draft.
So with his dominant prep career officially in the books, let’s bid farewell by looking at Bagley’s final game at the high school level -- a 94-79 win over New York Lightning at Nike Peach Jam on July 14. In that game, Bagley led Nike Phamily to the victory by dropping 30 points, 16 rebounds, and five blocks.
