RJ Barrett's Game Soars To New Heights Before Nike Hoop Summit
Feb 7, 2017
If you don’t already know the name RJ Barrett, start getting used to hearing it over and over these next two-plus seasons. There’s a good chance the Montverde Academy (FL) guard will be everywhere.
A 6-foot-5 sophomore, Barrett elevated his game to superstar status during the 2016-17 campaign. The 2019 Flo40 No. 1 prospect was the undoubted leader and go-to guy for the No. 6 Eagles, who was the runner up at DICK'S Sporting Goods High School Nationals this past weekend, and proves to be better and better each time he steps on the court.
It's not often you see a 16-year-old compete at the Nike Hoop Summit, but Barrett absolutely belongs on the court with the best. The Canada native is playing for the World Team at Friday's game in Portland, and expect the DICK'S Nationals All-Tournament Team selection to put on a show of his own.
